Adventure is in the air! My fellow classmate Eric Mnemonic and I set out to explore SecondLife. The first stop on our journey was Info Island. Info Island is a place where you can learn about anything; cultures, astronomy, law, or even about resumes. They have books and displays. We arrived next to two very large video screens near the front of the main library. Next we started discussing finding a calendar and other things that we should do using voice. Someone overheard us and showed us to the reference desk where we could learn about the area and what Info Island has to offer. We looked at the scheduled events, there is always a lot going on. On Saturday January 31 there is a tech exhibit. That sounds like something I might attend because I like technology. We walked through the library and looked at the law area. Being criminal justice majors we started reading around and there was a lot of good information. We saw pictures of our new president and we also saw a place where you can play some drums. It was fun to see the culture areas. They have a miniature Paris and Mexico. We spent some time in the N
ative American area. We even did a rain dance! Next I traveled to Marni. It is a home and an area with lots of interesting things to look at. I found what looks like an alien piloting a space ship. There is a lot to
do and interact with. I looked around some more and saw some pretty neat things. After that I headed over to apocalypse which is a role playing sim. It is an urban slum. Looking around you see graffiti and rundown buildings. The role playing has a group that acts like a wolf pack. The avatars that I saw had tails and hair that looks like a lions mane. While I was there I saw job applications for police officers. I picked one up and I plan on filling it out. It is an interesting place. I will come back again and learn more about it.
